| Kalakukko Recipe |

- 3 cups flour;
- packet butter for the dough;
- 2 tablespoons butter for greasing;
- 1 cup of water;
- 1 teaspoon salt;
- 2,2 pound fish fillet;
- 10,5 ounces smoked bacon;
- 1 big onion;
- 2 boiled eggs;
- 1 raw egg;
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil;
- ground black pepper
- Combine flour, butter, water and salt make dough, divide it into 2 pieces and let stand for 10 minutes.
- For the fish minced, eggs and bacon cut into small pieces, combine with fried onions in butter, salt and pepper.
- The dough is rolled out, put one layer on a greased baking sheet with vegetable oil, put minced on top, flatten, and cover with second layer, seal the edges. Prick the cake in several places with a fork, brush with egg and bake in the oven.
- Ready to grease a cake with melted butter, cover with a clean towel and leave for a few minutes.
Serve hot.

The picture above has absolutely _nothing_ to do with kalakukko..
Nor does the recipe… But I’m sure the recipe makes a fine Fishpie. The original kalakukko is made with rye flour and water etc.. ingredients are same as for rye bread. So no butter, no eggs..
But I’m sure that pie is delicious too
